The FIG Working Week 2019 is coming! This year the FIG Week will take place in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. BELS+ will carry on several activities to promote the awareness about Galileo and about our Demo Centre.

The first activity will be the Training Day to be held on April 21st as part of the FIG/IAG/UN-GGIM-AP/ICG/VGCR Technical Seminar. The training covers in detail in the study of the concepts and techniques used in the high-accuracy positioning by means of GNSS. The theoretical foundations for Standard and Precise Point Positioning (SPP, PPP) are presented, focusing in the instrumental use of the concepts and techniques of GNSS navigation.

BELS+ European GNSS Solutions for Surveyors

The BELS+ Training day is a course on Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) data processing which focusses on the suverying domain. The training covers in detail in the study of the concepts and techniques used in the high-accuracy positioning by means of GNSS. The theoretical foundations for Standard and Precise Point Positioning (SPP, PPP) are presented, focusing in the instrumental use of the concepts and techniques of GNSS navigation. In particular, the different terms involved in modelling the code pseudoranges and carrier-phase measurments (relativistic effects, atmospheric propagation effects at troposphere/ionosphere, instrumental delays, clock synchronism, etc.). The processing algorithms are discussed in detail and implemented through guided exercises in the laboratory session based on the ESA/UPC GNSS Laboratory tool suite (gLAB), where the impact of the modelling accuracy is assessed in the positionin domain.Also during the training course, participants can practice with NAVISIM – a Softwared Defined Radio GNSS signal generator – which can be used in laboratory for testing and validating the operation of GNSS receivers in different harsh real-world scenarios, as well as for training GNSS users (surveyors).
