BELS+ Workshop and Training days @ LAPAN
European GNSS Solutions for high accuracy positioning
17 and 18-19 July 2019
Bandung, West Java
WORKSHOP – “GNSS technologies and application for a sustainable development: the European contribution to robust and precise positioning”
Galileo, the European Satellite Navigation System, is smoothly flying toward its Full Operational Capability Phase after providing Initial Operational Services to worldwide users since 2016. In this workshop representatives of European institutions and companies will bring news about the status of the Galileo system, its future developments as well as about scientific initiatives for the monitoring and prediction of ionospheric disturbances. In addition, information on the Galileo’s footprint in Asia will come from representative of the NAVIS Centre in Hanoi, which hosts the Galileo Demo Centre. This Demo Centre aims to be a permanent showcase of European GNSS technology in Asia. Some of the companies currently hosted in the Centre will present their most innovative solutions and research outcomes in the second part of this session. The workshop agenda will be published soon.
TRAINING DAYS – “European GNSS Solutions for high accuracy positioning”
The BELS+ Training days is a course on Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) data processing which focusses on precise positioning. The training covers in detail in the study of the concepts and techniques used in the high-accuracy positioning by means of GNSS. The theoretical foundations for Standard and Precise Point Positioning (SPP, PPP) are presented, focusing in the instrumental use of the concepts and techniques of GNSS navigation. In particular, the different terms involved in modelling the code pseudoranges and carrier-phase measurements (relativistic effects, atmospheric propagation effects at troposphere/ionosphere, instrumental delays, clock synchronism, etc.). The processing algorithms are discussed in detail and implemented through guided exercises in the laboratory session based on the ESA/UPC GNSS Laboratory tool suite (gLAB), where the impact of the modelling accuracy is assessed in the positioning domain. The agenda of the Training Days is avilableat this link.
The events will be held in English and they are free of charge. The registration link can be found here.
Are you a European researcher, student or GNSS professional? You can apply for a voucher to participate in our Indonesian event!
